Should You Open the Armory: July Update Review

New CS2 collections always cause a massive hype on the community market, and the July 2026 update was no exception. On the night of July 9, the developers added two highly anticipated sets to the Armory Pass: “Arabesque” and “Espionage and Technology”. As before, opening each of them costs exactly four credits. The CSGO-NEWS blog editorial team has prepared a detailed breakdown for you. In this article, we will find out which items drop from these sets, whether it is worth spending your hard-earned credits on them, and which skins have the greatest potential for price growth in the Counter-Strike 2 market.

New CS2 collections added to the Armory Pass. The CSGO-NEWS blog breaks down Arabesque and Espionage sets, their 2026 prices, and growth chances.

Breakdown of the “Arabesque” Set: Oriental Luxury

The first thing to pay attention to is aesthetics. The “Arabesque” set is imbued with the atmosphere of the Middle East, desert mirages, and ancient magic. New CS2 collections rarely offer such a well-developed concept. The lower rarity tiers here are occupied by skins like PP-Bizon | Betrayer, MP9 | Dune Asp, and Nova | Morning Sun. Their price in 2026 at launch is literally a few cents, and they are mostly suitable for trade-up contracts.

The middle segment (Restricted and Classified quality) looks much more interesting. Desert Eagle | Oriental Enigma and M4A4 | Falak are already trading around $15-$25 in “Factory New” condition. But the main goal of any player is Covert quality items. There are two of them in this collection:

  • AWP | Sovereign Flame (Covert): An incredibly beautiful sniper rifle. In the first days after release, its price settled at $320. Thanks to the new lighting in Counter-Strike 2, the golden and fiery elements of the skin look amazing.
  • AK-47 | Djinn’s Spawn (Covert): A mystical design with green and purple iridescence. The current price is about $280.

Breakdown of “Espionage and Technology”: Cyberpunk and Spec-Ops

The second collection targets a completely different audience. It features a strict, high-tech design that perfectly fits the Counter-Strike 2 lore. The base drop includes MP7 | Foundation-2, Tec-9 | Perimeter, and MAC-10 | Camcorder—excellent material for cheap sticker crafts.

Investors’ interest is riveted to Classified quality skins, such as AWP | Black Box, USP-S | Spiral Glitch, and M4A1-S | Fatal Crash. Their cost ranges from $30 to $55, as they have a strict futuristic design. But the true pearls of the collection are:

  • AK-47 | AUTORUN (Covert): The price of this rifle reaches $400 for the best condition. Digital glitches and neon lines make it one of the most desired items of 2026.
  • Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol (Covert): A rare case when a pistol gets Covert quality in a collection. Its price is $180, and the demand for it is huge.

Investments: Is It Worth Spending Credits?

When considering the new CS2 collections, every player wonders: should I open them myself or buy on the market? Opening the Armory Pass for four credits is always a lottery. The chance of getting a Covert weapon is extremely small (about 0.26%). If you want a specific item to play within Counter-Strike 2, buying directly on the market will always be mathematically more profitable.

However, if we talk about investments, the new CS2 collections offer excellent opportunities to make money on trade-up contracts. Classified quality skins (M4A4 | Falak, AWP | Black Box, USP-S | Spiral Glitch) have huge growth potential. As soon as the Armory Pass ends or the collection rotation changes, the influx of these items will stop. Players will continue to “burn” them in contracts for Covert AK-47s and AWPs. Therefore, purchasing Classified weapons from both sets in 2026 is a reliable investment for the next 1-2 years. Read the CSGO-NEWS blog to never miss the best buying moments!
