Dreamhack Winter 2013
This tournament was memorable for everyone because it was the first major in the
history of CS:GO. Its scale amazed everyone, it was not just a tournament – it was a
celebration of esports. All of Sweden rejoiced and watched with interest the outcome
of the tournament. Believe me, victory did not matter at this tournament, as its scale
did not allow us to think about it. The prize pool of this tournament was amazing,
namely 250,000 dollars. The esports team “fnatic” won the first Majors CS:GO tournament,
taking home 100,000 dollars.

Three years later, a major starts that raised the prize pools of all CS:GO tournaments.
How did they manage to do that? The company “Valve” raised the prize pool at this
major from 250,000 dollars to 1,000,000 dollars. Just imagine, the prize pool of this
major is 4 Dreamhack Winter 2013s! After that, private majors CS:GO tournaments had to
raise their prize pools so as not to lose the interest of esports athletes. Since then,
CS:GO tournaments have earned a good price in terms of prize pool. But this major
was not only remembered by the prize pool. At this tournament, a moment occurred
that forever left a mark on the “Mirage” map. We are talking about the winged AWP,
which is located on the B-plant of the map. The author of this stunning moment was
Marcelo “coldzera” David, who killed four opponents with an AWP noscope, jumping
while shooting.
PGL Major Kraków 2017
No less grandiose majors CS:GO. But he was remembered the most by the CIS
community. At this major, the Russian esports team “Gambit” showed themselves for
the first time and proved that this team deserves to be in the list of the best. By
beating the team “Immortals” in the final of the tournament, Gambit showed their best
result. They fought well, not giving their opponents a chance. Before Gambit’s victory,
the CIS could only boast second places at tournaments, and they were Na’Vi. From
this moment, CS:GO fans realized that the guys from the CIS could do more. They can
show good game.
